bloodshot eyes (before a noun)

Bloodshot is almost always used before the word eyes, or for a person's eyes after a linking verb. It describes the visible red veins in the white of the eye.

'Bloodshot' प्रायः 'eyes' से पहले आता है, या linking verb के बाद आँखों का वर्णन करता है। यह आँख के सफ़ेद भाग में दिखने वाली लाल नसों को बताता है।

  • Radhika came to school with bloodshot eyes after a night of revision.
  • The driver's bloodshot eyes showed that he had not slept for two days.

be / look / become bloodshot

After be, look, seem or become, the adjective stands alone and describes the eyes (or the person's eyes) at that moment.

be, look, seem या become के बाद यह adjective अकेला आता है और उस समय आँखों की स्थिति बताता है।

  • His eyes were bloodshot and watery from the smoke.
  • After hours of screen time, my eyes become bloodshot.

no comparative form

Bloodshot describes a state, so it is rarely used with more or most. Use very or slightly instead, or say the eyes are badly bloodshot.

'Bloodshot' एक अवस्था बताता है, इसलिए इसके साथ more या most कम ही लगता है। इसके बजाय very, slightly या badly का प्रयोग करें।

  • Her eyes were slightly bloodshot after the long train journey.
  • The patient's eyes were badly bloodshot and painful.
