AaSpelling

con·trolled

With double l (not 'controled'); likewise controlling and controller, but control itself has one l.

दो l के साथ ('controled' गलत है); इसी तरह controlling और controller, पर control में एक l।

?Which word?

controlled: one l or two?

Control ends in a single l with the stress on the last syllable, so British English doubles the l before -ed and -ing: controlled, controlling; and the noun controller has two l's too. The same rule applies to patrol (patrolled), compel (compelled), travel (travelled, British only). Keep apart controlled (regulated) and self-controlled (restrained in behaviour).

Control का अंत एक l से है और stress अंतिम syllable पर, इसलिए British English में -ed और -ing से पहले l दोहराया जाता है: controlled, controlling; noun controller में भी दो l। यही नियम patrol (patrolled), compel (compelled), travel (travelled, केवल British) पर लागू होता है। Controlled (नियंत्रित) और self-controlled (व्यवहार में संयमित) को अलग रखिए।
