'Depend' always takes 'on' (or the formal 'upon') before the thing relied on. Never use 'depend of' or 'depend from'.

depend on + wh-clause / -ing

When the choice is open, 'depend on' is followed by a wh-clause. The preposition can be dropped before 'whether' in speech, but not before 'who' or 'what' in formal writing.
