§Grammar and usage
Verbs such as avoid, enjoy, mind, finish, deny, consider and practise are followed by a gerund, not an infinitive, so say 'I enjoy swimming' (not 'I enjoy to swim').
Avoid, enjoy, mind, finish, deny, consider और practise जैसे verbs के बाद infinitive नहीं, gerund आता है, इसलिए 'I enjoy swimming' कहें ('I enjoy to swim' नहीं)।
After 'look forward to', 'be used to' and 'object to', the word 'to' is a preposition, so a gerund follows, as in 'I look forward to meeting you'.
'Look forward to', 'be used to' और 'object to' में 'to' एक preposition है, इसलिए इनके बाद gerund आता है, जैसे 'I look forward to meeting you'।
In formal English, a possessive is used before a gerund, as in 'I object to his coming late' (not 'him coming late').
Formal English में gerund से पहले possessive आता है, जैसे 'I object to his coming late' ('him coming late' नहीं)।
