?Which word?
imperative or imperial?
Imperative means essential or commanding: 'it is imperative to leave'. Imperial means connected with an empire or an emperor: 'the imperial capital'. Both come from the Latin for command (imperare), but only imperative keeps the sense of command.
Imperative का अर्थ 'अनिवार्य' या 'आदेशात्मक' है: 'it is imperative to leave'। Imperial का अर्थ 'साम्राज्य या सम्राट से संबंधित' है: 'the imperial capital'। दोनों Latin के 'आदेश देना' (imperare) से हैं, पर केवल imperative में आदेश का अर्थ बचा है।
§Grammar and usage
The imperative sentence gives a command or request ('Sit down', 'Please wait'); the subjunctive follows 'it is imperative that' ('that he be told').
यह बहुत पूछा जाता है: imperative sentence आदेश या अनुरोध देता है ('Sit down', 'Please wait'); 'it is imperative that' के बाद subjunctive आता है ('that he be told')।
