◇Word family
§Grammar and usage
After the verbs make, let, see, hear and watch in the active voice, the bare infinitive (without 'to') is used, so say 'He made me laugh' (not 'made me to laugh').
Active voice में make, let, see, hear और watch के बाद bare infinitive (बिना 'to' के) आता है, इसलिए 'He made me laugh' कहें ('made me to laugh' नहीं)।
In the passive, 'to' comes back, as in 'I was made to wait'.
Passive में 'to' वापस आ जाता है, जैसे 'I was made to wait'।
Usage: putting a word between 'to' and the verb, as in 'to boldly go', is called a split infinitive and is often treated as an error in exams.
'To' और verb के बीच कोई शब्द रखना, जैसे 'to boldly go', split infinitive कहलाता है और exams में इसे अक्सर गलती माना जाता है।
