spoke (noun) of a wheel

A spoke is one of the thin rods joining the hub of a wheel to its rim. It is countable and usually plural: spokes.

'Spoke' पहिये की नाभि को घेरे से जोड़ने वाली पतली छड़ है। यह countable है और प्रायः बहुवचन 'spokes' में आता है।

  • A spoke of the cycle wheel was bent.
  • The wheel has thirty-six spokes.

spoke (past tense of speak)

Spoke is also the past simple of speak. The past participle is spoken, so 'have spoke' is wrong.

'Spoke', 'speak' का past simple भी है। Past participle 'spoken' है, इसलिए 'have spoke' ग़लत है।

  • The principal spoke to the parents yesterday.
  • Radhika has spoken to the teacher about the project.

hub and spoke (compound)

In business and transport, hub-and-spoke is a system where routes spread out from one central point.

व्यापार और परिवहन में 'hub-and-spoke' ऐसी व्यवस्था है जिसमें मार्ग एक केंद्रीय स्थान से बाहर फैलते हैं।

  • The airline uses Delhi as the hub in a hub-and-spoke network.

spoke + for / on behalf of (past of speak)

✓ The teacher spoke to me about the exam.

Speak needs the preposition to before the person addressed.
