§Grammar and usage

A noun or pronoun in apposition takes the same case as the word it explains, so say 'The prize was given to us, the winners' and 'We, the people of India' (not 'to we' or 'Us, the people').

Apposition में आया noun या pronoun उसी case में होता है जिस शब्द को वह समझाता है, इसलिए 'The prize was given to us, the winners' और 'We, the people of India' कहें ('to we' या 'Us, the people' नहीं)।

Usage: a phrase in apposition that gives extra, non-essential information is separated by commas.

Apposition वाला जो phrase केवल अतिरिक्त, गैर-ज़रूरी जानकारी देता है, उसे commas से अलग किया जाता है।
