be asleep / fall asleep / go to sleep
Be asleep describes the state; fall asleep describes the moment you drop off. Asleep is an adjective, so it follows be, fall or lie, not a noun.
'Be asleep' अवस्था बताता है और 'fall asleep' नींद आ जाने का क्षण; 'asleep' adjective है, इसलिए यह be, fall या lie क्रिया के बाद आता है।
- The baby was asleep when the guests arrived.
- Radhika fell asleep over her notes at midnight.
asleep after a linking verb only (not before a noun)

- Do not wake the sleeping child.
fast / sound / half / fast asleep
Asleep is not normally modified by very. Use fast, sound or half to show how deep the sleep is.
'Asleep' के साथ सामान्यतः very नहीं लगता; नींद की गहराई बताने के लिए fast, sound या half का प्रयोग होता है।
- The whole village was fast asleep by ten o'clock.
- I was half asleep when I answered the call.
asleep (of a limb)
When an arm or leg has lost feeling because of pressure, English says it is asleep, or that it has gone to sleep.
