AaSpelling

e·nough

?Which word?

enough: where does it go?

Enough goes before a noun ('enough money', 'enough chairs') but after an adjective or adverb ('big enough', 'fast enough'); 'enough big' is wrong. It is followed by to-infinitive ('old enough to vote') or 'for' plus noun ('enough food for ten'). Do not add 'much' or 'many': 'enough money', not 'enough much money'. Compare too: 'too big', 'too much money'.

Enough noun से पहले आता है ('enough money', 'enough chairs') पर adjective या adverb के बाद ('big enough', 'fast enough'); 'enough big' गलत है। इसके बाद to-infinitive ('old enough to vote') या 'for' और noun ('enough food for ten') आता है। 'Much' या 'many' न जोड़िए: 'enough money', 'enough much money' नहीं। Too से तुलना कीजिए: 'too big', 'too much money'।

§Grammar and usage

Enough before a noun, after an adjective or adverb ('tall enough', never 'enough tall'); 'enough to do' and 'enough for sb'.

यह बहुत पूछा जाता है: enough noun से पहले, adjective या adverb के बाद ('tall enough', 'enough tall' कभी नहीं); 'enough to do' और 'enough for sb'।
