?Which word?

envious or jealous?

Envious means wanting what somebody else has: 'envious of her success'. Jealous means fearing that somebody will take what is yours, especially in love: 'a jealous husband'. Jealous is often used loosely for envious, but keep the distinction in exams. Enviable means so good that others would envy it: 'an enviable record'.

The envious/jealous/enviable set is a sentence-improvement item.
