except + noun / pronoun

Except introduces the one thing or person that is not included. A pronoun after it takes the object form: him, her, me.

इसके बाद pronoun object form में आता है: him, her, me।

  • Everyone came except Radhika.
  • All of them agreed except him.

except for + noun

Except for is used at the start of a sentence or to mention a small exception to a general statement.

  • Except for the last question, the paper was easy.
  • The room was empty except for a table.

except that + clause

Use a full clause with that when the exception is a fact, not a single item.

  • The trip was perfect except that it rained on the last day.

After do, nothing or anything, except is followed by the bare infinitive.
