Here + be/verb + noun

When here starts a sentence to point something out, a noun subject follows the verb: Here is the bus.

  • Here comes the teacher.
  • Here are your books.

Here + pronoun + verb

§Grammar and usage

Inversion after here with nouns ('Here comes the bus'; 'Here is the book'), but not with pronouns ('Here it is', 'Here she comes'); no preposition before here ('Come here', not 'come to here').

यह बहुत पूछा जाता है: nouns के साथ here के बाद inversion ('Here comes the bus'; 'Here is the book'), पर pronouns के साथ नहीं ('Here it is', 'Here she comes'); here से पहले कोई preposition नहीं ('Come here', 'come to here' नहीं)।

Keep the old adverbs: hither (to here), hence (from here), thither (to there), thence (from there), whither (to where), whence (from where).

पुराने adverbs याद रखिए: hither (यहाँ को), hence (यहाँ से), thither (वहाँ को), thence (वहाँ से), whither (कहाँ को), whence (कहाँ से)।
