?Which word?
persuade or convince?
Persuade means to make somebody do something by giving reasons: 'She persuaded him to stay.' Convince means to make somebody believe something is true: 'She convinced him that she was right.' Traditionally persuade takes 'to do' and convince takes 'that' or 'of'; 'convince sb to do' is now common but still marked wrong by careful examiners.
Persuade का अर्थ 'तर्क देकर किसी से कुछ करवाना' है: 'She persuaded him to stay'। Convince का अर्थ 'किसी को विश्वास दिलाना कि कुछ सच है' है: 'She convinced him that she was right'। परंपरागत रूप से persuade के साथ 'to do' और convince के साथ 'that' या 'of' आता है; 'convince sb to do' अब आम है पर सावधान examiners इसे गलत मानते हैं।
The persuade/convince distinction is an error-spotting item.
Persuade और convince का अंतर error spotting में आता है।
