?Which word?

tight or tightly?

After hold, sit, squeeze and shut, tight is used as an adverb: 'Hold tight', 'Sleep tight'. Before a participle use tightly: 'a tightly packed bus'. 'Tightly' is never wrong after a verb, but 'hold tightly' sounds less natural than 'hold tight'.

Hold, sit, squeeze और shut के बाद tight adverb की तरह आता है: 'Hold tight', 'Sleep tight'। Participle से पहले tightly लिखिए: 'a tightly packed bus'। Verb के बाद 'tightly' कभी गलत नहीं है, पर 'hold tightly' की तुलना में 'hold tight' ज़्यादा स्वाभाविक लगता है।
