?Which word?

fast is both adjective and adverb

Fast has the same form as adjective and adverb: 'a fast car' and 'He drives fast.' There is no adverb 'fastly'. The same is true of hard, late, early and high. Fast (abstain from food) is a different word; breakfast is the meal that breaks the night's fast.

Fast adjective और adverb दोनों में एक ही रूप है: 'a fast car' और 'He drives fast'। 'Fastly' कोई adverb नहीं है। यही hard, late, early और high के लिए सच है। Fast (उपवास) अलग शब्द है; breakfast रात के fast को तोड़ने वाला भोजन है।

Homonym: fast (quick) and fast (go without food) share spelling; breakfast comes from the second.

Homonym में fast (तेज़) और fast (उपवास) की spelling एक है; breakfast दूसरे से बना है।

§Grammar and usage

'fastly' does not exist; fast is already the adverb.

यह बहुत पूछा जाता है: 'fastly' शब्द नहीं है; fast ही adverb है।
