gorgeous + noun

Used before a noun, it means very beautiful or delightful. It is stronger than 'beautiful' and is informal to warm in tone.

Noun से पहले इसका अर्थ बहुत सुंदर या आनंददायक है। यह 'beautiful' से अधिक प्रबल है और स्वर में सहज तथा आत्मीय है।

  • They wore gorgeous silk sarees for the wedding.
  • We had a gorgeous view of the Himalayas.

look / feel / taste + gorgeous

After a linking verb it describes how someone or something appears, smells or tastes.

Linking verb के बाद यह बताता है कि कोई व्यक्ति या वस्तु कैसी दिखती, महकती या स्वाद देती है।

  • You look gorgeous in that colour.
  • The mango lassi tasted gorgeous.

absolutely / simply gorgeous

It is already a strong word, so use extra-strong adverbs like 'absolutely', not 'very'. 'Absolutely' and 'simply' are the natural intensifiers.

यह पहले से प्रबल शब्द है, इसलिए 'very' के स्थान पर 'absolutely' या 'simply' जैसे प्रबल adverbs अधिक स्वाभाविक हैं।

  • The sunset over the lake was absolutely gorgeous.

gorgeous (weather and places)

In British English it often describes perfect weather or a lovely place, not only people.

ब्रिटिश अंग्रेज़ी में यह प्रायः उत्तम मौसम या सुंदर स्थान के लिए भी आता है, केवल व्यक्तियों के लिए नहीं।

  • It is a gorgeous morning after the first rain.
