§Structures (grammar patterns) 4
hope + to-infinitive
Use this when the hope is about your own future action and the subject is the same for both verbs.

- We hope to see you again soon.
hope + (that) clause, present for future
After 'hope' the that-clause often uses the present tense to talk about the future, but 'will' can also be used when the hope is about a different subject.
'Hope' के बाद that-clause में भविष्य के लिए प्रायः simple present आता है; दूसरे subject के लिए 'will' भी चल सकता है।
- I hope it doesn't rain on Sunday.

hope for + noun
Use 'hope for' when the thing wished for is a noun, not a clause.
जब इच्छित वस्तु noun हो, तब 'hope for' का प्रयोग होता है।

hope (noun): hope of/for/that

?Which word?
hope for, hope of and hope to
Hope for is followed by a noun: 'hope for the best', 'hope for rain'. Hope to is followed by a verb: 'hope to pass'. Hope that introduces a clause: 'I hope that he comes.' The noun takes of with -ing: 'hope of winning' (not 'hope to win' after the noun in formal use). Hopefully means 'in a hopeful way'; its use for 'I hope' ('Hopefully it will rain') is common but still disliked by purists.
'Hope for' के बाद noun आता है: 'hope for the best', 'hope for rain'। 'Hope to' के बाद verb: 'hope to pass'। 'Hope that' clause शुरू करता है: 'I hope that he comes'। Noun के साथ of और -ing: 'hope of winning' (औपचारिक प्रयोग में noun के बाद 'hope to win' नहीं)। Hopefully का अर्थ 'आशापूर्ण ढंग से' है; 'I hope' के लिए इसका प्रयोग ('Hopefully it will rain') आम है पर शुद्धतावादी अब भी नापसंद करते हैं।
