Neither + singular noun + singular verb ('Neither book is mine'); neither of + plural noun + singular verb in formal English ('Neither of the answers is correct'); neither ... nor (not 'neither ... or'): the verb agrees with the nearer subject ('Neither Radhika nor her friends were late'); after neither at the start of a clause, use inversion ('Neither do I', 'Neither can she'); avoid a double negative ('I don't like neither' is wrong; say 'I like neither' or 'I don't like either').
