beat, beaten and beet

The verb beat has the same form in the past (beat) and the participle beaten: 'India beat Pakistan yesterday', 'India has beaten Pakistan'. Beet (with double e) is the vegetable, beetroot; 'beat' and 'beet' are homophones. Keep apart beat (defeat, or hit) and win (gain a victory): you beat a team, you win a match; 'beat the match' is wrong.

Verb beat का past रूप वही (beat) और participle beaten है: 'India beat Pakistan yesterday', 'India has beaten Pakistan'।

Homophone: beat and beet.
