full + of + noun

Full of is the usual pattern for what a container, place or person contains. It can be literal or figurative.

be full (up) (no preposition)

Without of, full alone means that no more can fit, or that someone has eaten enough. Full up is informal.

  • No more rice, thank you; I am full.

full + noun (complete)
